T Reads: Mockingjay
The time has finally come!!! After 3 long years, we finally get to see how it all plays out in Panem...unless you've already read the series of course. The Hunger Games series is by far one of my favorites. Between the action filled storyline and it's portrayal of young people standing up for what's right, this series should be a reminder that just because something has "always been that way" or just because "someone's young" doesn't mean that what they feel and their feelings aren't valid. To be honest, the opinions and feelings of the youth are more valid than the elders of our society.
The way that Katniss has stood up for herself and countless other tributes should be admired. I'm one of those people who reads between the lines when it comes to so many stories. Mockingjay is no exception. Losing her sister, her best friend, and literally taking back society proved just how strong Katniss is. How strong we all can be.
With the release of Mockingjay: Part 1 last November, I couldn't help but look at the timing of the release. There was so much going on in the world. With the fast paced world of social media in today's world, we know about news instantaneously. Many young people look at Katniss' rebellion as a sign that they should speak up for what's right, and they should. If you haven't read Mockingjay, I highly recommend reading it before Mockingjay: Part 2 hits theaters this year. That's all for my Reads this month!
