Okay can someone please explain to me how we're already in August? It seems like just a couple weeks ago it was "hello summer" all over Instagram. July went by super quick for me because I had so much going on and I was just trying to get everything done even though I was sick as hell. I got strep throat for the first time and it was THE worst experience of my life. Any way enough with the July recap, let's get into my July Musings.

I've been obsessed with this white charcoal detox mask by Context Skin. They sent it to me a while ago and literally every Sunday, this is my go-to to get my skin ready for the week and keep it super clear. I love how easy it is and makes my skin feel just beyond refreshed. It's also super light and doesn't feel like a typical mask that gets hard and makes you feel like your face is paralyzed. Definitely my new go-to.

King Slime Drizzy damn! Drake is one of my favorite rappers. I don't listen to a ton of rap but I've been a fan of Drake ever since Degrassi: The Next Generation. My favorite track is "Nonstop" because it's such a hype song. Any time this song comes on I'm just immediately obsessed and I wanna listen to it all the time.

July was all about salads. I absolutely love salads, especially if they're big and hearty. This kale salad with anchovy dressing, pecorino, and breadcrumbs from Brezza Cucina was absolutely amazing. I added steak to my salad because I wanted something to make the salad a little bit heavier for lunch. I ordered my steak medium and it was absolute perfection. I'm all about a massive salad and this month those were my go-to.

I've been loving whiskey sours lately. It was my first cocktail that I'd ever had that had an egg in it and I've been obsessed ever since. I usually go for a cherry whiskey sour but this one I had from Brezza, didn't have cherries and it was still great. Being from Tennessee, I'm definitely a whiskey girl and this whiskey sour didn't disappoint.

Westworld is the shit. I binged both seasons this month after seeing bits and pieces of episodes and being so completely confused. So on a couple editing days, I sat down and binged the whole series. I am absolutely obsessed. A lot of people don't really think I'm into tech and sci-fi but I literally grew up watching Star Wars and Star Trek and pretty much anything on sci-fi with my mom. So with stuff like this with androids and hosts and whatnot, I was super interested. Definitely recommend this series if you're looking for something new to binge. It's got some crazy twists.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to get into a book between being sick and working on my re-brand so August will definitely have some more book content coming to the blog. See you next month!

A Reinvention of Sorts

Hi, I'm Toni and I've been a shit content creator as of late. Since the beginning of spring, I've been uninspired with not only the content I was creating on my blog, but on my channel and my social media. I felt like I was just posting to post, my feed was a mess, my videos felt rushed. I wanted to change. So, this past month, that's what I did. I spent the entire month creating content and shooting for yet another rebrand. I went through all the posts on ToniBaldwin.com, my Instagram, and my app and videos that I'd uploaded on YouTube and archived content that was stale, didn't fit my content, or just plain boring. My Instagram got it the worst, I deleted every single post (still cringing at that omg!!). I know I could've just started posting different photos and edits but I just wanted a clean slate. ToniBaldwin.com also has yet another new look as you can see. I guess you could call this, a reinvention of sorts. While I want to share what I'm wearing and my makeup looks, I also want to share vlogs that show me as a person. That's what my platforms have always been for. With all of that being said, I hope you enjoy the new content that I create.

Okay so seriously where is this year going? June was month full of creating content and really getting back on my grind. I know I say that a lot but for real, I got my shit together this month. This past month I launched my app series, The Candids, finally got back in the hang of creating content (and created more), and shot some new content for ToniBaldwin.com (coming soon to the Eats section). June is always a good month for me during the year though. It's the first month of Summer and I love hot weather. So let's get into my June musings.

Ever since Tobi sent me this faux leather skirt, I've been obsessed with it for real. It's become a staple in my night out wardrobe and I always love pairing it with an oversized basic t-shirt for a little bit of edge. One thing I do love is that this look can be done so many ways and it can be dressed up or dressed down with either some simple sneakers, like I wore here with my Vans, or some regular heels. I definitely needed something in my closet to replace my leather jacket since it's been no lower than 90 degrees.

Pray for the Wicked has definitely been something I've been looking forward to for months. Panic! at The Disco has been one of my favorite bands for the longest time and every time they (or I guess I should say he?) release a record, I'm literally almost always immediately obsessed. When "Say Amen (Saturday Night)" dropped, I knew I more than likely would love this record. I've been listening to it non-stop and "One of the Drunks" is probably my new favorite at the moment.

1Kept has quickly become one of favorite places whether it be for brunch or dinner and drinks with friends. I went for a friend's birthday and I've been OBSESSED with their salt roasted pork belly. It comes with kimchi fried rice and I love it. I'd never had kimchi before and normally when I go, I order the chicken schnitzel and herb spaetzle which is absolutely to die for. A whole post will be coming on 1Kept soon however I've eaten here at least 4 times in the past month so it was only fitting.

While I'm still shooting content for the Drinks section of Eats, I've been trying out some new bars and new cocktails. My friend Yesenia made me a Paper Plane which is a bourbon drink and I've been obsessed with it since. I'm not entirely sure what's in it but the full recipe will be featured in the Drinks section of Eats soon when I highlight the entire bar, The Mercury.

I absolutely love Degrassi. I've been watching it pretty much all my life (even though at times I totally wasn't supposed to). It's where my love of high school dramas originated, where I first saw Drake rap, and how can we forget Craig Manning (Jake Epstein's character). The official Degrassi YouTube started uploading all of the seasons and I have no idea how I'm just now seeing them. Naturally, I had to binge a little bit.

For those of you that don't know, I'm in love with Stephen King. I always have been ever since I read It when I was younger. I picked up Doctor Sleep a while ago but I haven't gotten the chance to read it until this past month. It's the sequel to The Shining and follow Danny after the events of that book. That's all I'm going to say because I don't like spoiling books and movies for other people but it's absolutely amazing.

5 Random Facts

While I planned on filming a makeup tutorial today, the weather says "nope, not happening" and since I film in natural light, it's a lost cause. So I decided why not do another random facts post so you guys can get to know me better? I love doing these kinds of posts because it helps you guys get to know me a bit better.

I don't Care About Looks

I already know what you're thinking. "How can you not care about looks? It's literally your job." Well be that as it may, I also know that looks aren't everything. I get messages from people asking me "how do you think I look?" and I always say "I don't care how you look." Yes I wear colored contacts (they're prescription so I'm just changing my eye color, I need to see) and I do wear weave as a protective style. The fact that people don't like to admit is that looks can be gone in 60 seconds. I know that people want to feel confident in their looks, I do too and I am. However, there's almost nothing physical that can't be changed in one way or another whether it be makeup or getting plastic surgery if they choose. What matters to me is how you treat me, how you treat other people. I've toyed with doing a whole post about this, what do you think?

I'm Scared of heights

There's nothing I hate more than being in a super tall building. I just can't stand being up super high. It's also the reason that I'm not crazy about flying even though I travel frequently. It just freaks me the fuck out being up that high. I remember when I went to the top of the Empire State building as a kid and I honestly wanted to cry. I do end up in a lot of high rise buildings and whatnot for work or visiting friends, but heights ain't my thing at all.

I Love The Rain

While I'm not crazy about what it does to my hair, I absolutely love rainy days. There's nothing that gets me in a more creative mood than rain. I will literally immediately get in the zone whether it be writing, editing some footage, or recording some new music. I know a lot of people hate the rain but it's everything. Something about the "gloomy" weather that literally makes me so happy.

I Just Started Working out

A lot of people think from my Instagrams or my Snapchats that I work out frequently and ask me for workout tips. I said I was actually going to in January and let's be real, that ended just as quickly as it began. I haven't worked out at all and it wasn't until this past month that I actually started doing different things. I still don't go to the gym (yet) but I do now have a nutritionist and a personal trainer. I also recently went to a yoga session that kicked my ass so I definitely think I'll be doing more of that as well.

I'm A Blunt Person

I will say whatever is on my mind at any time. I'm not into beating around the bush, speaking in code, etc. whatever you want to call it. I don't see a point in lying or not being upfront and straight. If I don't like something, I'll say it. If I love something, I'll say it. If I want out of a friendships or relationship or anything like that, I'll end it. I have no qualms about being upfront, straightforward, honest, frank, blunt, etc. I prefer a blunt honest person than to a lying yes-man who's just going to kiss my ass for whatever reason. I've had "friends" in the past who were only there to tell me that I looked good or that my music sounded great when in actuality they just wanted something from me. Then I've had amazing real friends who will tell me "hey kid you're fucking up right now, seriously get it together" and I couldn't appreciate that more.

I hope you guys liked this post in getting to know me better. Tell me a random fact about yourself.

Here we are 11 days into June and I have yet to do my May Musings. Little back story on this month, I was massively busy. I recently got a new car and everything I had originally planned to do for May kind of got pushed back which is why the blog has been quiet and my channel hasn't had a new video until last week. I totaled my old car and literally ran around trying to find a new one. I also decided to start filming an app series around this time too and because of everything I had going on, it just didn't get done in time of when I wanted to launch it but it will be out this week. So now that you know how crazy May was for me, let's get into my May Musings.

I've been wearing black almost every single day. My summer uniform for the most part consists of a tank top, ripped shorts, and some vans. It's super hot this summer in Atlanta and I'm also doing more basic looks for everyday this year. I've really been simplifying my life in a lot of different ways (post coming soon on that) and wearing this look has been it for me. It's also a versatile look, if I throw on some heels it can be dressed up a bit.

I featured blackbear's last album cybersex a few months ago in another Musings post and in May I re-discovered digital druglord. I still love "do re mi" so much even though everyone is listening to that song now. Fun fact, I first started listening to his music when he was going by Mat Musto on MySpace and doing a completely different sound and I've been hooked ever since.

Nachos have been a thing for me lately. I know, I know. I went from tacos to nachos. But I literally had nachos at least 10 times in the last 2 weeks of May. These nachos are from Taco Mac but the other nachos that I ate were from Deep End in Midtown (feature on them coming soon). I'm really big on beef and chicken nachos but I did try steak and I think I may have just found a new obsession.

Pressed Juicery is in Atlanta. I repeat: PRESSED JUICERY IS IN ATLANTA! I featured Pressed Juicery in an Eats post in November and I mentioned how they were only available in LA and New York unless you order it online. Well I recently found some in Atlanta and I could not be happier! I picked up the activated charcoal refresher and I've been drinking it a bunch and I feel great afterwards.

You guys have seen that I do love animation but one of my favorite shows ever is Archer. The new season premiered in April and so far I'm loving this season. I still miss the older seasons when they were still all spies but I totally get why they had to change the premise of the show. This season so far has been amazing to me.

What did you love in the month of May?
