Dear Me: A Letter To My Younger Self

Every year around this time, I usually start to reflect. This year I decided to write a letter to my 14 year old self. This time 5 years ago, I was entering the crazy and insane world that is high school and I would have loved to have this advice. But you know what they say, hindsight is 20/20.

Dear Toni,

I'm 2015 you and I'm writing to tell you some things. Spoiler alert, you and him don't end up happily together like you planned freshman year and that's okay. Your ride or die best friend, won't be your ride or die best friend...either of them. Your "passion" for photography will be dwarfed by your drive and hunger to pursue music. Lastly, you'll go from the girl who had 1-2 friends she could talk to but not trust to the girl with a solid group of 20+ friends that you can call at any moment. Things are scary right now and you will figure out how to navigate everything, don't worry. YOU. WILL. GRADUATE. Everything that you think is the end of your world this year, will mean absolutely nothing when you're walking across that stage in 2014 wearing your white cap and gown. Watch your mouth, you cause one too many issues with teachers. Even if you are right (which 90% of the time you are), just do it and get it over with because it's honestly not worth it. Prom 2013 will be the time of your life, and yes you get to wear your Vans. Your senior year will be tough and you'll lose a lot of "friends" but you'll also make lasting ones that will stay forever. This letter is a mess and all over the place, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that everything will be fine. January 20th isn't the end of your world. Neither is May 22nd. You're still alive and still just as sassy as ever and everything in your life is going great. Just actually do your homework, it's bullshit busy work but it'll help you out later in life.

Love Someone Who's Lived What You're About To Experience, Toni

If you could write a letter to your younger self, what would you say? Let me know! If you're a blogger, I challenge you to write a letter to your younger self like I did. It's a great way to move on from the past as well as inspire your future. I hope you guys enjoyed this post!

XO, Toni
